British Touring Car Championship

The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is Britain’s most popular racing car series, with grids of over 30 cars doing battle on Britain’s top circuits. The series is famed for its ultra-close and often combative racing, with drivers going wheel to wheel or even doorhandle to doorhandle in the quest for victory!

Formed in 1958, initially as the British Saloon Car Championship, the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) series has become one of the most prestigious in the world, and many legendary drivers have been created as a result of the high media exposure and TV-friendly racing. The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) really came to the attentions of the British public in the 1980s and 1990s, with the mighty and expensive ‘super tourers’ which saw many of the world’s top manufacturers enter with high quality drivers including some from the world of F1. Rivalries, contact between cars and thrilling racing ensued, cementing the series’ place in the hearts of the public.
