Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival

The Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival returns on 4-6 August, for its usual mixture of thrilling racing from motorcycles of all ages, star guests, display areas and parades.

Event

The Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival will return on 4-6 August 2017, with New Zealander Simon Crafar already confirmed as a star guest for the festival’s fifth running.

Crafar was the winner of the 1998 500cc British Grand Prix at Donington, and was also a podium finisher in British and World Superbikes. He began racing in 1981, and moved up to the world stage in 1989 in World Superbikes, before making his Grand Prix debut in 1993.

He scored 10 podium finishes in World Superbikes, and took three podiums and a victory from 32 starts in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

The New Zealander will take part in the star parades as well as making appearances across the venue.

The festival will is set to again feature up to 50 races across the three days courtesy of the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC), as well as parades and massive display areas, with event regular Steve Parrish also confirmed to return again.

FAQs

What time will the gates open? – Gates will be open at 7.30am on all three days.

Can I purchase my ticket at the gate? – Yes tickets are available on entry on the day.

Are children free? – Yes children aged 13 and under are free.

Is there racing both days? – Yes there will be racing action on both the Saturday and the Sunday, a timetable will be available on the main event page closer to the race date.

Do I need to pay for parking? – Parking is free for this event.

Can I visit the museum? – Yes, you get 50% off of adult entry for our museum on the back of your ticket, this is valid only for the date on your ticket.

Is the Melbourne loop hairpin in use for this event? – There won’t be any racing on this section of the track, it is used for access only.

My tickets haven't arrived, what can I do? - Most tickets for major events are dispatched 7-10 days before the first day of the event. If you have purchased tickets for a major event at Donington Park and your tickets have not arrived, please contact our ticket agents SeeTickets via https://www.seetickets.com/customerservice.

Can I leave the circuit and return on the same day? - Yes you can. Please ensure you scan your ticket or have your hand stamped when leaving the venue. You can only re-enter the venue if your ticket is valid for that day, and your hand is stamped.

Do I qualify for a local resident discount? - Local Residents are entitled to a £5 discount. Please ensure you bring along valid proof of address and photographic ID. Valid postcodes for a local discount are DE74, DE73, DE72 and LE12 9. Discounts are only valid for on the day purchases.

Is there disabled parking and viewing available? - The disabled access area and view point is located at Gate 10 - Coppice Corner. There is an elevated viewing and parking area offering a good view of the track. Please ensure your vehicle displays a blue badge, and you'll be directed to the disabled viewing area upon arrival at the event.

Can I get into the pits and paddock? - The paddock is open for this event, but please note there will be heavy vehicle movement so please be cautious and ensure children are supervised at all times. Pit areas are only accessible by authorised personnel.

Where are the baby changing facilities? - Baby changing and feeding facilities are available at Redgate Suite Information. The Paddock Suite also contains these facilities.

Are animals permitted on site? - No animals are permitted anywhere on site, with the exception of guide/assistance dogs.

Are there any cash machines on site? - Yes, free to use cash machines can be found in the Pitstop Restaurant in the paddock, or at the Donington Collections museum.

Where can I report lost property or hand in something I have found? - Please head to the security point at Gate 21 (opposite the FIA Formula E complex) to hand in or report any lost property.

Can I take photos of the racing? - You are welcome to bring cameras to the event and take photographs, but for personal use only.

Can I bring a drone camera with me? - Drone cameras and remote controlled aircraft are not permitted, and may be confiscated if found.
