Thunder in the Park Track Days
Ever wondered what it's like to drive around a race track and follow in the footsteps of legends such as Ayrton Senna? Well now you can!!
Donington Park is delighted to offer the opportunity for you to bring your car along to this historic circuit and experience a hot lap. Tackle the roller coaster that is Craner Curves and the Old Hairpin before you head over the blind right-hander at Coppice Corner. An opportunity not to be missed.
There are three different driving groups - Novice, Intermediate and Advanced and you can decide which group you want to be in.
Available Dates
Following the success of the 2011 winter Thunder in the Park Track Days, we are planning to run some similar days during the summer evenings and again during December.
All dates will be announced on the website and Facebook pages so keep an eye out.
Hire a Car
If you don't want to use your own car then you can hire one of 10 Caterham 7 Superlights from Bookatrack. Hire of the cars is exclusive - meaning you don't share it with anyone else during the day. Additionally, we don't insist on having an instructor sat in the car all day either.

Helmets
All drivers and passengers must wear crash helmets before being permitted on the track. Helmets are not provided by Donington Park.
If you are in an open car (e.g. a Caterham) then you will need to wear a full face helmet or alternatively, an open face helmet will be ok provided you also wear eye protection goggles.
Your helmet must be a proper motorsport or road helmet. You will not be allowed out on track with a skiing or skateboarding helmet.

Track Day Format
Driver sign on (Media Suite): 7.30am
Driver briefing: 8.30am
Track opens: 9.00am
1 hour lunchbreak
Track closes: 4.00pm or dusk
Each group will get a total of six 20 minute rotation session throughout the day and there will be some professional instructors available should you want to have some instructor sessions. Please enquire about instructor sessions when you sign on in the morning.
There are only 35 spaces (per group - Novice, Intermediate & Advanced) available each day so act now and book your place in advance to avoid disappointment. Please contact Jenna Parker to book your place.

One-off Track Day Insurance

Weather Warning
Please note that there is a possibility of unpredictable weather this winter and if we have severe wintery weather then we will aim to give you at least 24 hours notice if the circuit decides not to run the track day.
If we do make the decision to cancel one of the days due to bad weather, then we will simply rearrange the date or you can be transferred to another one of the Thunder in the Park track days that are already in the diary.
