Summer holiday day out at Donington Park to meet the stars of BSB

Ahead of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship reaching Donington Park next month, the circuit will be holding an official testing and family day where visitors will get the chance to take a pit walk, meet the riders and get their autographs.

A perfect day out for the family during the summer holidays, the British Superbikes Official Testing and Family Day is taking place on Tuesday, August 7th from 9.00am to 5.00pm with lunch at 12.30pm when fans will get the chance to take a pit walk and meet the riders.

The event is a great opportunity for motorcycling fans to meet the championship stars ahead of Donington Park hosting the final critical round of the main season before the championship heads into the Showdown phase (September 7th, 8th, 9th). Following the Donington Park round, six ‘title fighters’ will be selected from the 32 riders putting them in contention for the championship win.

Christopher Tate, Managing Director of Donington Park, commented: “We’re attracting more families to our race days and events such as the British Superbikes Official Testing and Family Day out are a perfect opportunity to showcase the sport to a new generation of fans.

“Alongside the official testing we’ll also be running race simulators, bouncy castles, trampolines and a giant scalextric for the children plus there’ll be a hog roast at lunchtime and an open paddock all day.”

Donington Park is one of the UK’s most popular racing circuits and has already hosted some of the very best in World, European and British motor racing this year including the British Touring Car Championship, European Truck Racing, World Superbikes and European Le Mans Series.

Admission for the British Superbikes Official Testing and Family Day on Tuesday, August 7th is just £5.00 for adults and children under 16 go free with tickets available on the day.

Adult tickets cost £10.00 (on the gate) for Friday, £10.00 for Saturday, £25.00 for Sunday and £30.00 for the full weekend.
