750 Motor Club to kick off busy October at Donington Park
A busy weekend of exciting racing action from the 750 Motor Club will start the final month of this year’s on-track season at Donington Park this Saturday and Sunday (1-2 October).
Over 20 races are scheduled, with a mixture of saloons and sports cars set to do battle around the swoops and inclines of the Donington Park circuit.
The M3 Cup is one of Britain’s newest race series organised by 750 Motor Club, one of the oldest and largest racing clubs in the UK. This race will feature BMW M3 machines that will bring a real ‘touring car feel’ back to Donington. Another new initiative from 750MC is their Classic Interseries, which brings together an exciting mixture of sports and GT cars - so keep an eye out for Jaguars, Ford Mustangs and GT40s, and Caterhams.
Further tin top action comes from the Civic Cup, Hot Hatch and Stock Hatch for these nippy hatchbacks, as well as the ever-popular MR2 series, which regularly sees grids in excess of 30 cars.
Sports prototypes visually similar – if a little smaller - to those seen at Le Mans will do battle in both the Bikesports and RGB Championships, while an eclectic mix of cars will fight for victory in the Roadsports series with a 45 minute race.
Completing the racing line up is racing from kit cars in Sport Specials, and the bulging grids of the MX5 Cup, which thanks to its value for money reputation, frequently attracts massive grids of cars with plenty of entertainment almost guaranteed.
Tickets for the 750 Motor Club race weekend at Donington Park are available upon arrival at the circuit for £17 per day, or £30 for the full weekend. Further action this month comes from the No Limits Motorcycle races on 8-9 October, British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) on 15-16 October, and the season finale, the Dukeries Rally on 23 October.
