Classic Sports Car Club set to entertain this weekend

The Classic Sports Car Club stops by Donington Park this weekend (9-10 September) for a 16 race schedule for cars from as far back as the 1950s.

The club is one of the most successful in the UK, with a focus on low entry costs ensuring strong competitor numbers across all its series. This has the knock-on effect of providing enthralling racing with a huge variety of cars expected on the entry lists.

Categories in action include the Swinging Sixties series for sports, saloons and GT cars originally produced in the 1950s and 1960s, with likely cars including legendary Mini Coopers, MG Midgets, Frogeye Sprites and Ford Cortinas.

More historic cars will be in action in the Future Classics series, featuring machinery from the 1970s and 1980s, while sonorous and wild cars will thrill in the Special Saloons and Modsports category.

Vehicles of a slightly more modern ilk will battle it out in the Tin Tops and Modern Classics series, while Lotus Sevens and their derivatives will slipstream in the Magnificent Sevens.

Bringing things right up to date will be the New Millennium series for cars manufactured post-2000, with an Open series also in action, which as the name suggests, caters for almost any car in a grid that promises lots of variety.

Tickets will be available upon arrival at the circuit, priced at £17 per person and free for children aged 13 and under. For more information click here.
