Come and join the Convoy…learn to drive a truck at Convoy in the Park!
Ever fancied being a truck driver? Well visitors to Convoy in the Park at Donington Park this weekend will be able to enjoy a driving lesson with a difference and start their journey to becoming a knight of the road, thanks to the Scania Driver Experience,
Any visitor to this weekend’s trucking spectacular, billed as the ultimate celebration of trucks, drivers and life on the road, who comes along with a valid UK/EU driving licence will have the chance to get behind the wheel of a Scania HGV alongside a fully qualified driver who will be on hand to offer advice and encouragement.
The experience is available free and on a first-come-first-served basis. It will last for 20 minutes, during which time drivers will have a go at manoeuvring a full size commercial vehicle.
“We’re delighted to bring the Scania Driver Experience to Donington this weekend and give people the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a truck,” said Scania Truck Sales Director Andrew Jamieson. “The UK transport industry is always on the look-out for new drivers and we're keen to do all we can to help.
Wannabe truckers will have to be quick though, as there are limited spaces available on both days. Visitors will need to register at the Scania stand on the circuit infield, or at the Scania Driver Experience itself, which is located at the Launch Pad area of the Donington Park estate.
Advance tickets for Convoy in the Park can still be purchased. A ticket or Saturday or Sunday costs £15 (£20 on the day) and a weekend pass costs £25 (£35 on the day). Children under 13 get in free. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
