Entries flood in for Donington Rally
The Donington Park season kicks off with the Imperial Commercials Volkswagen Donington Rally on Sunday 5th March, and another full entry of 80 cars is expected.
The entry list filled within 24 hours of opening, and has attracted many leading competitors from the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship, of which the Donington Rally is the sixth round of the eight event series.
Leading entries include Ian Woodhouse, who won this event in 2016, as well as Ashley Field who has won both the Dukeries Rallies held at Donington in 2015 and 2016. Also on the entry is Graham Bell’s Millington Proton, winner of the last event at Croft, and TV stunt driver Paul Swift, who will compete in a powerful Ford Escort.
Despite the sold out entry, a number of interesting names also appear on the reserve list, including 2003 Le Mans winner Guy Smith, who intends to swap his usual Bentley for a Ford Fiesta R5, while former British GT champion David Ashburn is also a reserve and will hope to switch his GT Porsche for a rally favourite, a Mitsubishi Evo.
A full entry list can be found at www.doningtonrally.co.uk. Donington is currently running a special rally pass offer, allowing entry to both the Donington Rally on 5 March and the Dukeries Rally on 20 August for just £15. This offer is valid until 14 February. For more information click here.
