Epic line-up confirmed for Sunday’s Dukeries Rally
The Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally returns to Donington Park for a third consecutive year this Sunday (20 August), with another fully-booked entry list of cars set to entertain with power slides, handbrake turns and burning rubber!
A hugely varied line-up of 80 machines has been confirmed for the event, ranging from the classic Ford Escort, which has proven very successful at recent rallies at the circuit, to modern day Subaru Imprezas and Mitsubishi Evos, as well as rally special machines including Darrians.
The rally, run by the Dukeries Motor Club, will see the circuit transformed again into a giant special stage, with tyre chicanes and hairpin bends as well as sending the cars the ‘wrong way’ around the track in some sections. Competitors face these challenges over a total of 57 stage miles, with the first car due to set off at 9am, with the cars also using sections of the paddock and other service areas unaccustomed to live motorsport competition.
The event forms part of the MSA English Rally Championship and three Regional Stage Rally championships, ensuring the battle for victory in each class will be extremely fierce.
Donington’s panoramic viewing areas will provide perfect vistas of the action, a complete world away from forest rallies, while fans will also be able to get up close to the cars in the paddocks ahead of each stage.
Donington Park Managing Director Christopher Tate commented: “The spectacular sight of rally cars giving it plenty around Donington Park is a break from the norm, and something we all greatly enjoy. Rallying is a real test of driver skill, is breath-taking to watch, and for just £10 for an adult ticket, it’s a perfect day out, and on a rare summer date too!”
Tickets for the Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally at Donington Park are available upon arrival at the circuit priced at £10, with free entry for children aged 13 and under. For more information and to book, click here.
