Hundreds of display bikes to stun at Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival
The Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival (7-9 August) is shaping up to be the best yet with a feast of on track racing featuring 500 racing machines, several star names from the world of motorcycling and a bursting line-up of off track displays and activities.
The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) will again hold the Classic Clubs Show in the Exhibition Centre, which will see over 40 motorcycle and scooter clubs attending, with bikes from the UK, Europe and Japan, and more than 400 bikes expected to form displays, one of the largest shows dedicated to motorcycles.
The centrepiece of the exhibition will be the VJMC stand which will see over 60 bikes on display with machines from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s on show. Expect to see examples from Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and more on display here.
The majority of the machines on display will then take part in the exhibitor’s parade on track during the Sunday lunchtime, one of the longest bike parades seen at any racing circuit.
Donington Park’s Christopher Tate commented: “We are all greatly looking forward to this year’s Classic Motorcycle Festival. While there’s been a lot of focus on our exciting star guests and the packed racing schedule, the off track exhibitions and displays are just as much as part of the event, and visitors to the event will be thrilled by the hundreds of rare and historic machines that will be coming to Donington for the weekend. It’s a must see for any motorcycle enthusiast.”
Other fantastic bike displays at the event include famous machines from the star guests, as well as a stunning display of bikes from the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum, and a collection of rare Triumph machinery from the big screen courtesy of Dick Shepherd Triumph Factory Motorcycle Museum.
Tickets for the Classic Motorcycle Festival at Donington Park are available in advance for £12 per day, or £25 for the full three day weekend.
