Lace up your running shoes for the Donington Park Half Marathon
The Donington Park Half Marathon returns on 15 November 2015, with hundreds of runners set to participate, and there are still opportunities for interested participants to sign up.
Nearly 400 people participated in last year’s inaugural race, raising £6,000 for the Loughborough-based Living Without Abuse charity, who support men, women and children who have suffered from domestic abuse.
The event is open to runners of all abilities, and there will also be less strenuous races including a team relay baton challenge (teams of five) and a one lap fun run. The half marathon equates to over five laps of the iconic Donington circuit. Wheelchair uses are also encouraged to enter the event.
Registration closes on 4 November, and the race will start at 10am. An entry fee of £20 applies for unaffiliated runners, and £19 if entrants are affiliated to a running club. Entry to the team relay is £65 per team, and £5 for the fun run.
Gina King, Head of Fundraising at Living Without Abuse commented: “We are really looking forward to the second Donington Park Half Marathon. Entry numbers so far have been very encouraging, and there is still time to get involved. The run is great fun with stunning views, and a rare chance to get on track at Donington Park and raise money for a charity which has supported people since 1977.”
