Massive grids of saloons and sports cars set for Donington showdown!

The Donington Park-based 750 Motor Club holds its final race meeting of the season at the circuit this weekend (3-4 October), with a varied line-up of saloon and sports cars and big grids expected to do battle!
Cars in action include Le Mans style sports prototypes, several saloon car races, sports cars, bike engined racers and single seaters.
In the Classic Stock Hatch Championship for retro hatchbacks available for sale in the UK prior to 1992, three drivers can still claim the honours. Matt Rozier is the current leader in a trusty Peugeot 205, although Citroen AX racer Andrew Thorpe and multiple champion Lee Scott’s Ford Fiesta can still beat him.
The Stock Hatch series for hatchback vehicles available for sale in the UK is set to be a sibling scrap, with Shayne and Lee Deegan leading the way. Behind them though, there will be a tough scrap for honours between dozens of closely matched cars.
The Roadsports series will be decided in a 45 minute race on Saturday, with eligible cars including Porsches, sporty BMWs, Ginettas and Toyotas.
Machines similar to those seen at Le Mans will race in the Bikesports championship, with four different classes competing, and in the similar RGB (road going bike engined) Championship, where both class titles are up for grabs, with Scott Mittell one of the favourites.
Further action comes from the Formula Vee single seater category, which features cars of free design and construction, meaning for grids of big variety and unique machines.
Saloon car drama will come from the big grids of the Civic Cup for Honda Civics built between 1990 to 2013, the Renault Clio 182 series, where three drivers remain in close contention for the title and the Toyota MR2 Championship. Races from the Sports Racing and GT Challenge, sonorous machinery from the Bernie’s V8 series and Morgan Challenge complete the line-up for the weekend.
Tickets are available upon arrival at the circuit for £15 per day, with free entry for children aged 13 and under. For more information, visit www.donington-park.co.uk
