Power Maxed Racing BTCC Vauxhall Astra breaks cover at Donington Park

The brand new Power Maxed Racing BTCC Vauxhall Astra has made its first ever appearance on track today (Thursday 2 March), with rookie driver Senna Proctor at the wheel during a Donington Park General Test day.

The car represents Vauxhall’s return to the British Touring Car Championship as a works team, after an absence of seven years, with newcomer Proctor paired with BTCC returnee Tom Chilton.

Power Maxed Racing has signed a three year deal to run the car in the series, and the car has been built up by the team at its Bidford base during the winter, replacing the squad’s Chevrolet Cruze machines.

Its appearance at Donington today is the first time the car has turned a wheel in anger.

Fans will be able to see the new Vauxhall and the rest of this year's grid on track for the first time at the BTCC Season Launch on Thursday 16 March, with free entry for the afternoon test session. For more information, click here
