Thundersport set to storm into Donington Park this weekend!
The Thundersport GB Motorcycle Club will provide tempestuous entertainment at Donington Park this weekend with a huge schedule of 38 races with over 390 bikes set to do battle.
These are the first bike races of the Donington Park 40th anniversary season and Thundersport is renowned for providing stunning action at one of the best bike circuits in the world.
Racing this weekend includes the famous Dunlop Thundersport Superteens that spawned the likes of Casey Stoner, Cal Crutchlow, Tom Sykes, Chaz Davies, Tommy Hill and Leon Camier. This series is full of ambitious teenagers who are all set on becoming the next star in world motorcycling, so look out for 13-year-old Harry Leigh, who lives just five miles away in Hathern, as he aims to join the list of riders that Superteens propelled to stardom!
There’s plenty more to look forward to, including the blistering pace of the Aprilia RRV450GP machines, budget racers including the Thundersport 500 which has attracted 80 entries, and the Golden Era Superbikes and Steelsport/Supersport, in which legendary machines from the 1980s and 90s will return to battle.
Sensational racing is always provided by the Pre-National Sport and Pre-National Freshman 600 series, as does the Sportsman Elite class, while the Supertwins and Stocktwins categories will appeal to fans of the Isle of Man TT races.
Meanwhile, high speeds and high drama will come from the Thundersport GP1 Elite, Sportsman and Freshman races, with bikes producing over 200 horsepower and capable of speeds of over 200 miles per hour!
Tickets can be purchased upon arrival at the circuit throughout the race meeting, with prices at £17 per day or £30 for the full weekend. Entry to the circuit will be free of charge for the test day on Friday. For more information, click here.
