Thundersport set to storm into Donington Park
The Thundersport GB Motorcycle Club will provide plenty of drama at Donington Park this weekend (23-25 September), with a full programme of 35 races scheduled across Saturday and Sunday.
The Thundersport GB club is renowned as a proving ground for up and coming motorcycle racers, with many of the riders in British Superbikes coming from the categories racing this weekend. Indeed, household names including Casey Stoner, Chaz Davies, Sam and Alex Lowes, Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith learned their trade with Thundersport, so the stars of the future could well be in action at Donington Park!
A total of 17 races will take place on Saturday, and 18 on Sunday, with action coming from Supersport-style machinery in the Thundersport 600 Elite series and the Pre-National 600, while famous machinery from the 1990s will race in the Golden Era Superbikes.
650cc twin cylinder machinery will compete in the Supertwins and Stocktwins series while the Golden Era Supersport category will provide another throwback to the 1990s.
Road racing newcomers will do battle in the Freshman 600s and GP1 Freshman, while the famed Aprilia Challenge which has proved the starting point for many stars will also provide plenty of thrills.
Action starts at 9am on both days, with racing continuing past 6pm across the weekend.
Tickets are available upon arrival at the gate this weekend. For more information on events at Donington Park, click here.
