Jason O'Halloran topped the third Bennetts British Superbike Championship Free Practice session at Donington Park this morning, edging the McAMS Yamaha 0.127s ahead of home hero Leon Haslam who held second place on the times for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad Team.
Andrew Irwin had a strong start to the day, posting the third fastest time for Honda Racing UK to move ahead of the returning Danny Buchan on the SYNETIQ BMW and championship leader Glenn Irwin on the leading BeerMonster Ducati.
Ryan Vickers was constantly near the sharp end in the morning session; setting the sixth fastest time on the first of the LAMI OMG Racing Yamahas, with teammate Kyle Ryde in 18th after topping the times yesterday with a lap time that remained the fastest of the weekend so far.
Tommy Bridewell was seventh fastest ahead of Charlie Nesbitt for MasterMac Honda by Hawk Racing as he slipped down the order in the closing stages after running inside the top five before the final improvements in the closing minutes.
Jack Kennedy and Lee Jackson completed the top ten with just 0.002s between them at the chequered flag, nudging rookie Max Cook and Peter Hickman out as they completed the top 12 riders.
