The Beechdean Aston Martin duo of Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn topped the first practice session for the Intelligent Money British GT Championship #DoningtonDecider at Donington Park this morning.
Howard and Gunn set a 1m34.811s with only championship contender James Cottingham and his teammate for this weekend Philip Ellis also under 1m35s. The #4 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG was the fastest of the title fighters with their rivals in the #91 Century Motorsport BMW (Dan Harper and Darren Leung) a second off the top spot in eighth.
Mike Price and Callum MacLeod placed third in the #3 Greystone GT Mercedes-AMG ahead of Jonny Edgar and Miguel Ramos in the #88 Garage 59 McLaren 720s Evo. The #77 McLaren of Enduro Motorsport were fifth with Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clutton.
Sixth went to the Team Abba Racing partnership of Richard and Sam Neary in the #8 Mercedes with the #78 Barwell Motorsport duo of Sandy Mitchell and Shaun Balfe the fastest Lamborghini Huracan in the session. Eighth was the #91 Century Motorsport BMW.
Rounding out the top ten were Mark Radcliffe and Rob Bell in the #27 Optimum Motorsport McLaren and John Ferguson and Raffaele Marciello in the #15 RAM Racing Mercedes.
The second practice session begins at 12:45 with British GT qualifying this afternoon starting at 4pm.
