Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn continued their Donington Park form by topping the second free practice session for the Intelligent Money British GT Championship season finale this afternoon (Saturday).
The #97 Beechdean AMR teammates topped FP1 this morning and had a larger gap over their rivals in the afternoon with their fastest lap (1m35.108s) 0.404s faster than second placed Raffaele Marciello and John Ferguson in the #15 RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG.
It was a Merc 2-3-4 as the 2 Seas Motorsports cars lapped behind the top two. Jules Gounon and Ian Loggie were marginally ahead of their sister car of James Cottingham and Philip Ellis. Cottingham, in the #4 car, was the leading championship contender with his rivals in the #91 Century Motorsport BMW, Darren Leung and Dan Harper, in seventh place.
Fifth went the the #72 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini duo of Mark Sansom and Will Tregurtha who brought out a red flag half way through the session after a crash at the Old Hairpin. Sixth fastest were Mike Price and Callum Macleod for Greystone GT in the #3 Mercedes-AMG.
Mark Radcliffe and Rob Bell for Optimum Motorsport, and Enduro Motorsport's Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clutton put both their McLarens eighth and ninth with the #78 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini of Sandy Mitchell and Shaun Balfe rounding out the top ten.
