WorldSBK FP2: Razgatlioglu remains on top in Free Practice 2

Toprak Razgatlioglu continued to be the target for his MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship rivals with an inch-perfect performance in the second free practice session as the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WSBK Team rider held the edge.

The Turkish contender continued to set the benchmark and in the closing minutes of the session, Danilo Petrucci was the rider who came closest in second place and 0.222s adrift on the Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati.

Nicolo Bulega was the leading rider from the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team in third place, as teammate and reigning champion Alvaro Bautista crashed out unhurt at Redgate. The Spaniard was able to rejoin the action and improve his pace but he could only remain sixth on the times at the chequered flag.

Alex Lowes was the leading British contender in fourth place for the Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK, despite a small tip off at Goddards in the early stages of the session, he edged out Scott Redding who completed the top five.

Andrea Locatelli was the highest places Pata Prometeon Yamaha rider in eighth as Jonathan Rea ended the second session in twelfth place. Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Sam Lowes and Axel Bassani completed the top ten riders.

The third World Superbike session at Donington Park is due to commence at 09:00 tomorrow (Saturday).
