WORLDSBK SUPERPOLE: RAZGATLIOGLU OBLITERATES DONINGTON PARK LAP RECORD WITH STUNNING SUPERPOLE LAP

Toprak Razgatlioglu returned to the top of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship in Superpole at Donington Park as the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WSBK Team rider smashed the all-time lap record to claim pole position.

Razgatlioglu’s flying lap put him an impressive 0.573s clear of his closest rivals and faster than the time that Remy Gardner had posted in Free Practice 3 that was also under the existing lap record.

Nicolo Bulega fired the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati into second place in the closing moments of Superpole, the reigning Supersport World champion upping his pace to move ahead of home hero Scott Redding who completes the front row for the Bonovo Action BMW team.

Danilo Petrucci heads the second row as he continued to move up the order in Superpole, with Sam Lowes crashing out but his time still leaving him in fifth place for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team and Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter completing the top six.

Michael van der Mark, the second of the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WSBK Team riders was seventh fastest, with Pata Prometeon Yamaha teammates Andrea Locatelli and Jonathan Rea separated by just 0.008s on row three. Alex Lowes completed the top ten ahead of the opening race action of the weekend for the Superbike World Championship contenders.
