Historic Sports Car Club Championships return to Donington Park this weekend

07 June 2024

The Historic Sports Car Club Championships head to Donington Park for two days of retro motor racing this weekend (8/9 June). Advance discounted tickets are available for £15 with further reductions for 13-15-year-olds and FREE entry for under-13s. Click here to book tickets.

Classic machinery from motorsport’s past will return to racing action on the National circuit, as the Historic Sports Car Club makes its annual visit to the East Midlands venue.

A diverse range of cars will be in action, ranging from retro single-seaters to evocative sports cars and tourers, with a bustling package of races to look forward to.

Single-seater drama will come from the thunderous machines of the Derek Bell Trophy, which includes F5000 and Formula 2 cars from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. In addition there’s multiple Formula Ford classes spanning several eras, plus grids of Formula Junior cars.

Hundreds of sports cars will compete across the 70s Road Sports, Guards Trophy and Griffiths Haig Trophy races, with cars spanning the late 1940s through to the end of the 1970s. And there’s huge variety on offer in the Historic Modsports and Special Saloons contests, epic prototype-style cars in Thundersports, and retro tin tops in Historic Touring Cars.

The paddock will be open for the whole event, allowing spectators to get a closer look at the cars and speak with the drivers.

Discounted tickets are available for £15 each day with reductions for 13-15-year-olds and free entry for under-13s. After 4pm on Friday, tickets will only be available at full price on the gate. For more information, click here.
