WorldSBK Race 2: Razgatlioglu dominates at Donington to take championship lead

13 July 2025

Toprak Razgatlioglu completed a sublime Donington Park treble, following up this morning’s Tissot Superpole win with victory in the final MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship feature race of the weekend at Donington Park this afternoon (Sunday). This performance was enough to lift the Turkish Superbike icon to the top of the standings, edging past Nicolo Bulega.

Razgatlioglu shot straight into the lead from pole position and he was never to be headed after flying through Redgate at the front of the pack. British hope Sam Lowes led the chase in the opening stages, attempting to apply pressure to Razgatlioglu ahead, but his race came to an abrupt halt when he fell at the first corner on lap four.

With Lowes out of the race and a bit of breathing space on the road behind him, that left Razgatlioglu to streak off to win once again following 23 laps of the East Midlands circuit.

It was Bulega who finished second for the third time this weekend, minimising the points loss to his title rival as much as possible. A slower start dropped the Italian down to fifth on the opening lap, but he made up for it on just the third lap with passes on Andrea Locatelli and Alvaro Bautista to move onto the podium.

Once Lowes exited the race, Bulega rode home to a comfortable second, just under three seconds behind the victor. He faced a little pressure from teammate Bautista as they rounded the Melbourne Loop for the final time but the Ducatis remained in order across the line.

Locatelli remained in fourth until the chequered flag with Danile Petrucci finishing just ahead of Garretty Gerloff to complete the top-five. Andrea Iannone, Dominique Aegerter and Remy Gardner were next to finish with Iker Lecuona completing the top-10.
