Donington Park is gearing up for a retro feast from Equipe Classic Racing with the Equipe 6 Hour Race for Pre ’66 GT cars on Saturday followed by a Classic Sports and GT Cars event on Sunday this weekend (5/6 July).
A stunning line-up of classic GT race cars will line-up on Saturday for a special six-hour contest on the Donington Park National circuit, inspired by the spirit of the iconic Spa Six Hours. The event will be run to the same format as the Belgian event with single-car, multi-driver teams.
Any car from the pre-1966 FIA Appendix K regulations is eligible to compete, so the long distance race could feature anything from Mini Coopers through to AC Cobras. Teams will consist of between two and four drivers, with compulsory pit stops with refuelling adding extra intrigue.
Sunday will feature a mixture of short and sharp contests for retro machinery, including more sports and GT cars in addition to F2 and Formula Atlantic single-seaters. Dedicated classes for ‘50s and ‘70s machines will feature as well throughout an eclectic race day.
Tickets are available in advance from £16 with reductions for 13-15-year-olds and FREE entry for under-13s. Click here for more information about Saturday and click here for further details of Sunday.
