Ary's the man! Bansal takes GB4 title as Juncos wins Donington finale

05 October 2025

Elite Motorsport's Ary Bansal claimed the 2025 GB4 title with a battling drive to third in the final race of the season, as Hillspeed's Leandro Juncos headed home teammate Dan Guinchard to take his first victory.

Bansal headed into the race, rescheduled from Brands Hatch and with the grid set there, needing to minimise the damage to his six point advantage at the start of the race. At one point the title looked to be swinging in the direction of Guinchard, who had blasted up to third on the opening lap, but in reality Bansal was always in position to clinch the title no matter what.

And while Juncos led from the start of the contest, Guinchard fought his way past Dayton Coulthard into second in the second half, but it wasn't quite enough.

Juncos took the win with a half second gap to Guinchard, but Bansal moved past Coulthard late on to take the final spot on the podium, and sealed the title with a podium finish.

Bansal's teammate Isaac Phelps finished fifth in the race, and finished equal on points with Guinchard in the title battle, but was classified ahead in the standings on countback, on the basis of having more race wins.

Guinchard had made a good start to the race from ninth on the grid, and moved up the order further as front-row starters Stefan Bostandjiev and Jack Taylor collided at the Old Hairpin on lap two, with Taylor digging into the gravel and rolling over, but emerging unscathed.

An extended safety car period nullified the early battles, with Juncos having taken the lead from Bostandjiev after a first lap scrap. Coulthard had moved up to second with Guinchard following him to third, with Bansal sixth and Phelps ninth early on, already enough for Bansal to hold his title advantage.

The race restarted at the end of lap five, and it didn't take long for Guinchard to move past Coulthard, but Bansal was also making progress to fourth, as he kept himself at the head of the live standings.

While Guinchard looked to move past his teammate Juncos, Bansal moved past Coulthard into third on lap eight, effectively eliminating any more prospects of the title battle. Even if Guinchard had moved into the lead, Bansal would only needed to have finished fifth or higher to clinch the title. As it was, Bansal won the title with an 11-point gap to Phelps and Guinchard.

Away from the title scrap, Coulthard took another strong result in fourth ahead of Phelps who passed Arden's Leon Wilson with a couple of laps to go to cement his vice-champion status.

Wilson settled for sixth ahead of Fortec's Thomas Ingram Hill, with Jason Pribyl (ADM), Alex Kattoulas (Elite) and Luca Magnussen (Fortec) completing the final race top-10.
