British GT Championship set for climactic ‘Donington Decider’ finale next weekend

26 September 2025

The fight for the 2025 British GT Championship comes to a thrilling conclusion at Donington Park with the traditional ‘Donington Decider’ on 4/5 October. The full Grand Prix circuit hosts a full field of GT3 and GT4 machinery as the title battle reaches fever pitch.

On-track action is headlined by Sunday’s two-hour British GT contest that will see Lamborghinis, McLarens, Aston Martins, Mercedes and more contend with the challenges of endurance racing, including pitstops, refueling and driver changes.

It’s Mercedes at the top of the GT3 Drivers Championship heading into the weekend, with the 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss leading the standings from the Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam and the Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 Evo of Morgan Tillbrook and Marvin Kirchoefer, both 28.5 points behind.

Victory at Brands Hatch last time out saw Dawson and Jewiss place one hand on the title, but with the maximum amount of compensation time to serve as a result, victory is not guaranteed. The sister 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes of Kevin Tse and Maximilian Goetz also remains in mathematical contention, albeit requiring misfortune for the three contenders ahead.

In GT4, the battle for Drivers Championship honours couldn’t be closer, with the top two separated by just three and a half points. The Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 Evo of Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson holds a narrow lead over the Optimum Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 of Marc Warren and Jack Brown after the latter pair retired on lap one at Brands Hatch. It’s truly too close to call between the two, as both crews have been on fantastic form throughout the season.

Junior series champions to be crowned

The GB4 Championship partnered by the BRDC will also crown its 2025 champion, with Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard leading the way from Elite Motorsport’s Isaac Phelps by 21 points. India’s Ary Bansal is also right in contention a further four points back from Phelps, and with a bumper four races at Donington Park, the fight is still wide open.

The penultimate round of the GB3 Championship, the UK’s fastest single-seater series, features too, with Australia’s Alex Ninovic leading the standings from his fellow compatriots Patrick Heuzenroeder and Gianmarco Pradel. Ninovic’s 71 points lead means he could wrap up the title a round early at Donington Park if things fall his way.

Further track action comes from the final rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship, Ginetta GT Academy and Ginetta GT Championship. Expect close racing and hard-fought battles across the grids.

A free pit walk and autograph session also features, allowing fans to get up close to the drivers and machines on the morning of the main Sunday raceday.

Tickets for the British GT Championship finale at Donington Park are still available at discounted advance rates until 4pm on Thursday 2 October. Main raceday (Sunday) admission is priced at £26 for adults, with discounted rates for teenagers aged 13-15, and free entry for children under-13 all weekend.
