Reigning Bennetts British Superbike champion Kyle Ryde topped the times in the first free practice session of the weekend on Friday morning on the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit. 

The Nitrous Competitions Yamaha Racing rider delivered a 1m27.943s right at the end of the 40-minute session to go a couple of tenths clear of the DAO Racing Honda of Josh Brookes, who had led much of the end of the practice.

Hager PBM Ducati's Scott Redding was next up, 0.037s further back and 0.070s ahead of McAMS Racing Yamaha's Danny Kent.
