Having established a new GB3 benchmark lap at Donington Park yesterday, Rodin Motorsport's Martin Molnar found another three quarters of a second to top the second day of running at the East Midlands circuit on Thursday.
The Hungarian driver recorded a 1m20.367s effort in the second of the day's four sessions, almost two seconds quicker than the outright series lap record at the venue.
As the upgraded Tatuus MSV GB3-025 cars again demonstrated their increased pace, Molnar ended the day just 0.057s quicker than Xcel Motorsport's Rowan Campbell-Pilling, who shot up the order after topping the final session.
Molnar's teammate Maxim Rehm ended the day third quickest, also setting his best lap in session four, while the third Rodin of Abbi Pulling completed the top-four, 0.174s away from top spot.
Flynn Jackes ended a positive test for Elite Motorsport with the day's fifth quickest time, set in session one, 0.042s away from Pulling and 0.028s clear of Jack Taylor, who was the lead runner for Fortec Motorsports.
Hillspeed's Dante Vinci was next up, ahead of teammate Peter Bouzinelos, with Xcel's Lucas Fluxa and Arden's Leon Wilson completing the top-10, which was covered by just over three quarters of a second.
Molnar topped five of the week's eight sessions, though three different contenders topped the times on the final day, with testing set to resume at Silverstone next week.
