Kyle Ryde will start from the Omologato Pole Position in the opening ZYN British Superbike Championship race of the weekend at Donington Park this afternoon after an intense and frantic ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying session with the top eight riders under the lap record.
Ryde initially set the fastest lap of the weekend on his first attempt as the times then tumbled throughout Q2 with Max Cook on the AJN Steelstock bimota closing in and then moving to the top of the times ahead of his Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rival.
With less than five minutes remaining, Scott Redding upped the pace for the Hager PBM Racing Team to move to the top of the times ahead of Cook and Ryde. However, the defending champion was still pushing hard and a final run put him back on top with the new fastest BSB lap of Donington Park.
Ryde had the edge by 0.148s ahead of Cook and Redding with Leon Haslam surging into fourth place in the closing stages to nudge Danny Kent back into fourth after he had a strong start to the session after progressing from Q1 on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha.
Storm Stacey completes the second row on the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati ahead of Bradley Ray and Glenn Irwin with Rory Skinner and Andrew Irwin completing the top ten.
