Kyle Ryde delivered another Omologato Pole Position for the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing team at Donington Park this afternoon, 0.068s under the existing ZYN British Superbike Championship lap record to remain on top.
Ryde and Rory Skinner had swapped positions at the top of the times in the early stages of the session, but the defending champion soon fired in a lap that would put him at the top.
Ryan Vickers though had worked hard with the Honda Racing UK team to gain ground on their rivals and he went to the top of the times with five minutes of the session remaining, as Bradley Ray and Max Cook also moved up the order.
Ryde though delivered a blow to his rivals of a further two flying laps that would give him the edge at the chequered flag with Vickers and Ray completing the front row for the opening race today.
Scott Redding was fourth on the Hager PBM Racing Team to head the second row, moving ahead of Cook on the AJN Steelstock bimota and Skinner, who completed the top six riders.
Glenn Irwin was into seventh ahead of Ilya Mikhalchik with Danny Kent and Christian Iddon the top ten riders ahead of race one.
