GYTR Yamaha rider Garrett Gerloff was top for the final practice session of the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship at Donington Park.

Gerloff went fastest after a late flyer and became the first rider of the weekend to go sub-1m27s with the American setting a time of 1m26.877. His nearest challenger, Bonovo Action BMW rider Loris Baz, was 0.324s behind after a similar late challenge from him.

Third position went to Pata Yamaha's reigning champion Toprak Razgatlioglu who, after a slow start to the session, initially went fractionally fastest before Gerloff and Baz took over.

Early pacesetter and six-time champion Jonathan Rea was fourth with his Kawasaki teammate, Alex Lowes, right behind in fifth.

Iker Lecuona was nearly the first to go into the barriers after an off for the Honda rider at Hollywood sent him way across the grass, but he was able to recover down at the Old Hairpin and finished the session in sixth.  Ducati's championship leader Alvaro Bautista had an off himself at the Fogarty Esses but regrouped and was seventh.

Scott Redding, Philipp Oettl and Michael Ruben Rinaldi rounded out the top ten who were all covered by only eight tenths of a second.

The all important Tissot Superpole session is next up at 11.10.
