Razgatlioglu aims to “fight for wins” at Donington WorldSBK

There's just 48 hours to go until the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship gets underway at Donington Park, and reigning champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is determined to fight for victories.

The Turkish contender won twice at the circuit on his way to a maiden WorldSBK title last year, but only claimed the first victory of his title defence at Misano five weeks ago. Nine other podium finishes has put the Yamaha ace third in the standings at present, but Razgatlioglu knows there's work to be done if he's to get his title campaign back on track.

"In Misano on Sunday, we made a big improvement with the bike set-up and I enjoyed the Superpole Race a lot - the first win of the season was good but I need more! I hope we can continue at Donington and fight for the wins again."

Razgatlioglu put in a memorable performance at Donington last year, notably in the first race of the event when he stormed from 13th on the grid to second halfway around the first lap, before going on to take victory. He followed that up with a more straightforward triumph in Race Two, as he thrust himself firmly into title contention.

"I love the Donington track, it is one of my favourites with hard braking and nice high speed flow in the other part. I also have very nice memories from last year and before.

"We finished Misano in a good way and I am feeling ready for the UK round. I have a lot of motivation to win and I am excited to jump back on my R1 again on Friday morning."
